It was from that very rare tropical storm that came up the Mississippi valley from the gulf. This box elder wasn't the only one we lost. But our highlands love stripping the leaves off the branches. So yes they cheer when a tree falls. It means something different for meals for a couple of days.

Only if the storm comes from Lake Superior
